Musical Rugs

Play a game of musical rugs it is played simillar to musical chairs except that you substitute small throw rugs for the chairs. Remember, one less rug than each dog playing, taking out one rug each time before the music starts again. You can buy inexpensive prizes for both the dog and the owner who are the last ones sitting on a rug.

Pool Party Information

With summer here, a lot of parties are including pools, for wading, swimming or just cooling off.

Don't forget to put this information on your invitation. Some of your dog's guest might schedule a trip to the groomer to look nice for the party, only to have their new-do ruined by a romp in the pool and rub dry in the grass.

Rich Party Food

Don't share human food at your party, even if you normally share your own food with your dog.   Other dogs may want some too, and a squabble could result.  Other dogs may react badly to the rich, sweet human foods.  Make it a party rule, don't  feed anything to another person's dog.

Pick The Right Party Location

Doggie Day Care Centers make a great place to hold your party.  These specialty businesses were built for you dog and offer a fantastic venue for your party, especially if your dog's birthday happens to fall during the cold, rainy or snowy  months.  Talk to your local doggie day care, they are less likely to be busy on weekends.  Be sure to ask about any vaccinations that might be required or any other paperwork that your guests may need to sign.  This type of information or paperwork could be sent with your invitations. Talk with them about staffing, they may be able to assist you in watching the dogs and ensuring a smooth party.

Guest List

Invite only the dogs that your dog already knows.  Be realisticabout the number of dogs you can comfortably hndle, as well as if they play well together.  Like any human party...invite those who you enjoy spending time with and your party will be a success.  Nothing can spoil a party more quickly than an aggressive dog.
